THE TASK
These cylindrical metal cans with feta cheese are very popular in the US as a picnic food. They are known as Danish-style cheese.
Our clients, the Atalanta company, offered us the job of creating this design. Their only condition was that there should be an illustration of a Danish farm on the packaging.
THE SOLUTION
We analyzed other packaging designs for Danish-style cheese.
After experimenting a bit, we chose a style in which the illustration was reminiscent of a colorful engraving. This was done to differentiate it from the rest of the canned cheese packaging styles. Unlike the rest of the packaging designs seen on the market, ours had a bit more depth. In order to achieve this effect, we added three ground planes, connecting them with a winding road and a fence.
