The Task
This is one of Molochnoye Delo's desserts. We were tasked with photographing the product and retouching the resulting images, as well as creating the entire packaging design.
Retouching the product photos was the most important thing we had to do for this project. When the packaging doesn't allow for its contents to show, the client relies on the design to get an idea of what they would be buying. From a marketing perspective, a good product illustration is also a means to prompt an impulsive purchase. Therefore, detailed retouching and drawing in some aspects of the product is necessary to create an image of an ideal dessert. The difficulty of working with packaging such as this is that there is a very small space to work with and we have to incorporate a lot - the trademark, product name and actual product.
Of course, the product should be the main focus in packaging design such as this - it has to be as large as possible, because the space it is depicted on is small and we also have to take into account the distance the customer will look at the product from.
