Redesign of Bombastic ice creams
Izida Ice Cream Factory is a manufacturer that can boast of a long ice cream history since 1991. The factory steadily occupies a significant market share, which is constantly increasing. Her ice creams are distinguished by the natural taste of each of the ingredients. This is one of the few remaining Bulgarian producers in the ice cream sector. "Izida" sells its ice creams under several popular brands in Bulgaria - Bombastic, Old Time, Bandi, etc.
The assignment
The clients from Izida set us the task of redesigning the Bombastic ice cream series. We had to keep a high percentage of recognition on the packaging as it is very popular among consumers who know it and search for it on the packaging.
The performance
The most significant change we've made is the Bombastic logo. We made it with a more dynamic shape tailored to the ice cream. The new version is much more noticeable in the freezer in the store.
Unlike the old packaging using symbolic images, we settled on product photography combined with good retouching done by our illustrators. The waffle bucket has also been photographed and replaced with a new, real one. We removed the excess glow around the ice cream - in the new product area we use a drop shadow. In this way, the ice cream looks vital and voluminous, it stands out more.
We kept the background colors almost entirely because they are an important element in brand identification. We added a new element – stylized flavor illustrations: vanilla, strawberry, cocoa and melon.
We also redesigned the Izida logo, which we will tell you about in a separate project.
