The Task
We worked on a project for a trademark redesign and a series of packages for different kinds of seeds, which was brought to us by FOP MUEDINOV R.S. Every redesign is a difficult task, sometimes even more difficult than creating a new one from scratch. This is especially true when the product is well known and has been on the market for a long time. When doing a redesign, it needs to keep the vision recognizable but at the same time make the whole composition, as well as its elements, more modern. The new vision has to give off the impression that not only the package design has changed but also the product inside is better. This way the feeling of a new design has to transfer to the product as well – better design, better product.
The new trademark became more dynamic, bigger and more fitting for a younger audience. We also significantly changed the shape of its back. The letters became easily readable as we removed the vertical lines which made the design old and unreadable. On the other hand, we made the letter V a lot more interesting - bigger and brighter, so that it is associated with a sign of the trademark.
In the old design, the seeds were represented by a vector illustration. This doesn’t create a feeling of a natural product. This is why we changed them for a beautiful photo of seeds, sprinkled with salt. Additionally, we drew a salt shaker, to enforce the feeling that the seeds are salty.
We changed the composition of the project by filling the form more harmoniously. The client used to have a yellow background for their trademark and a completely separate vector illustration of the product, which created a separation of the trademark from the project, since the two elements didn’t have the needed connection. We decided to do the opposite and create a composition that would unite the trademark and the seeds, while the background is more natural, bright and with richer colors and elements in it. This way we designed a package which stands whole as a composition. In the end, we developed the designs of the entire series of products. Every product has a different background but keep their brightness, vibrance and tastiness.

As a result, we realized the re-design of the projects with a bigger weight and this way we modernized and united the packages in one wholesome vision.
