Divna Toilet Paper
TO PORTFOLIO
The task comprised re-doing and designing packaging for a new product line of toilet paper and paper napkins. Before we were hired to work on this project, the toilet paper and paper napkins Divna were mainly sold in bulk to hotels and restaurants. Our clients from Bullpaper were aiming to start selling their products to larger chains and stores with the new packaging. This is why the new packaging design had to compete with leading brands offering similar products - Emeka, Milde and Zeva.
With the assigned task in mind we created a new trademark design, which would be memorable and easy to recognize. Designing the trademark Divna anew was necessary for several reasons:
- there were too many unnecessary elements in the initial design;
- the use of the Latinate letter rather than the Cyrillic <Д> made the product line name difficult to read and therefore hard to recognize;
- the cursive font allowed us to turn the Latinate into a Cyrillic <Д> with a few minor changes;
- we had to re-do some parts in line with contemporary graphic design trends.
We decided to create a mascot for the product line because large packaging, such as the kind toilet paper rolls come in, allows for a better view of the design, and so a mascot would be a good way to make the brand easy to identify on the shelf.
We drew illustrations for the toilet paper and the paper napkins, we created several scenarios that feature the kitten, we designed interesting pictograms, and the result was another successful project for us and our clients.
