The Alice product line was created by our client, Aniel. It was a children's dessert and so the packaging design had to relate to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
For this project we had to create packaging designs for all four products, an original illustration, which would link the product to the book but be entirely our own, create the trademark Alice, which had to fit perfectly with the other parts of the design, take a photo of the actual product and retouch it. Basically, this project included a bit of everything we do.
When we create packaging designs for children's products we instinctively go back to our childhood days and recall reading the book and the effect it had on us. Every detail is important, as it contributes to the feel and impact of the design as a whole. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is one of the most curious and exciting children's books, so we wanted both the background and the whole design to give off a mysterious air. We drew the scene when Alice has tea with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, leaving a very pale Alice at the center, so that her figure would contrast with the dark background and become a clearly-defined foreground. As for the other characters - we adhered to their descriptions in the book. We left a mystical background with a faint glow. We used an original font for the trademark and linked it to the illustration through Alice's hand. As the product is completely sealed, we left more space for the actual dessert and its taste. We took a photo of the dessert and retouched it. The background colors were based on the particular taste.

The result was a gorgeous unique design which sends the customer back through the pages of one of the most beautiful children's books - Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
